GoodHealthTV® welcomes the Haskell Service Unit, located in Lawrence, KS, to its growing list of subscribers. This is the third location in the Oklahoma City Area Indian Health Service to take a proactive stance on improving the wellbeing of the people they serve through health education.
Chris Buchanan, CEO of the Haskell Health Center, and Mitch Battese, IT Site Manager, both look forward to the potential of GoodHealthTV® to inspire, support, and empower patients to become more active in their own wellness. GoodHealthTV® delivers programming that focuses on wellness of all kinds – physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Viewers in the Haskell waiting area will discover a steady stream of entertaining educational videos on a variety of topics including tips on parenting, handling stress and embracing traditional values.
Haskell Health Center, an outpatient health facility, is located one mile from downtown Lawrence, on the campus of Haskell Indian Nations University (HINU). There are 81,000 people residing in the city of Lawrence, in addition to over 26,000 university students. Haskell Health Center's patients reflect a rich diversity in Native American Cultures. Nearly 250 tribes are reflected in its patient base with Prairie Band Pottawatomie, Navajo, Cherokee, Choctaw and Creek representing the highest percentage.
Medical services offered at Haskell Health Center include pediatric, family practice, internal medicine, mental health, and dental care.
